Music selection is not my department, but singing techniques i know a bit.
Never stretch your neck up when trying to hit high notes, so head level with shoulder.
Feet approximately 1 foot apart unless moving.
Do not drink any dairy products before singing. ( creates Flem which limits range -highs and lows-)
when singing high try and bring the sound into the chamber of your nasal cavity while spinning the air in your back pallet. (the soft pallet in the further part of your mouth, remember to bring sound forward to the extreme you sound basically nasally, try and find a comfortable medium of forwardness)
To breath properly is to give words power and not let words fade away into incoherent words. In other words, in hale filling your balloon( this is your stomach area) it should inflate very large) if exhaled properly the balloon should stay inflated for a considerable amount of time and move lots.
Remember to always make the endings of your words strong and clear don't drop them off even if the not goes down.
To step down small steps in singing think up when going down and the note should mentally make a half step rather then a full step.
There's much more but it's hard to explain the rest.
hope this helps at all, by the way this if for choir singing for band singing concepts are very similar just some aspects can be ignored to achieve that rocky unique tone for soloing. :)
Addition:--> Always remember, to breath is to live. Give life to your words through breath!
